Hello Buddies!

No doubt by now you are aware that a new service for TE users has just launched this morning (Tuesday, June 1st, 2010).

This new service is a membership site called TE Command Post, from the innovative mind of Paul Kinder and company.

What follows is my personal review of the new site along with how we can use it to help grow your TEP referrals and OBA business.

First a review of the membership site…

Obviously this site is geared toward TE users by providing them with a service to assist in their TE advertising. TE Command Post gives you a central location to view your TE advertisements (credits) without logging directly into each TE individually.

Within your command post you get:

* Up to the minute account information for every listed exchange almost instantly.

* How many credits you have waiting to be assigned

* How many credits you have already assigned

* Which URLs are running low on credits

Design and layout of the membership site is simply first class. It is totally custom-built on a new script developed by KRM (Kinder-Rash-Marketing) and is extremely easy to navigate.

When you first log in, the Members Home page provides you with clear steps to set up your command post quickly.

Step 1: Grab a copy of the user guide

The user guide is presented in PDF format for easy off-line reading. With a menu-driven table of contents, you can jump to any section of the guide for information you need.

Step 2: Set up your exchanges

I was fully impressed with how easy it is to add a TE to your command center. You simply go to ‘Traffic Exchanges’ on the main menu, scroll through the built-in list of TEs you can add, enter your username or ID number for an exchange to add, click the ADD button.

If you are adding a TE that you are not already a member of, you can join from a banner link on the right. (This serves as a referral builder for you automatically.)

When you click the ADD button, you’ll be asked to enter your username and password for the TE being added. This allows TECP to access the credit balance information in your individual TEs without having to log into them individually.

In less than two minutes I was able to add Blue-Surf and Traffic-Splash to my control center. You only have to add each once and you’re set. With experience, you’ll probably able to add a TE in about 10 seconds flat.

Step 3: This step takes you to the second referral builder in TECP. You can also reach this referral builder by going to ‘Other Resources’ on the main menu.

At this time, three other resources are included: Affiliate Funnel, TE Toolbox and ViralMailProfits. (More on this below)

Step 4: This step is where you take control of your TE Credits. It’s the main feature you’ll likely be using in the command center.

You can skip to this section by going to ‘TE Credits’ on the main menu, but you will not be able to view your credits until completing Step 2, above, for each TE you wish to manage.

Here’s a look at my control center with the first two TEs added:

Clicking the green plus sign next to an individual exchange expands the view to display each URL you have entered in that TE. You’ll be able to see exactly how many credits are currently allocated to each a URL.

You are not able to manage your credits directly from within TECP (which would be a nice feature, but could pose a security risk); however, a convenient link to each TE is also displayed for quick access.

In addition to managing your TE Credits assigned to your URLs, you can see how many banner and text link impressions you have in your TEs by going to the appropriate item on the main menu. (Upgraded members are able to access details on banner and text impressions rather than just your overall total.)

That’s a basic overview of the primary features in TE Command Post. The clear benefit to you is the amount of time this will save you from logging into each TE individually to check the status of your advertisements.

In my personal (and professional) opinion, this is a must-have tool for any TE marketer with any experience level.

Experienced marketers with dozens of TEs to manage will save the most time. However, the system is so easy to set up that any newbie can use it quickly and easily.

The immediate benefits of TE Command Post are clear.

What are the hidden benefits?

How can TECP build YOUR business?

It short, TECP can benefit your business on the ‘back end’ in two ways:

First, by assisting you to gain referrals in the built-in ‘downline’ builders.

The main downline builder is for the traffic exchanges you have set up in your TECP back office. However, in my honest opinion, most people will simply use TECP to manage their existing TE memberships. As with any TE downline builder, having too many TEs to join is a disincentive rather than an incentive to join them all.

Side Note: This is the primary reason we use Traffic Hoopla as the starting point for building TE referrals. With a smaller list of TEs and a solid reason to join them, referrals to Traffic Hoopla naturally join your TE downlines.

The other downline builder in TECP is for ‘Other Resources’ mentioned above. I do believe it would be good to join each of those resources mentioned as these are more likely to gain referrals automatically.

The second way TECP can build your business on the ‘back end’ is with added income and commissions. This is an advanced strategy that is used within our TEP marketing system to liquidate expenses. Our advertising and marketing tools become revenue generators rather that costly liabilities.

If you are just starting out in your marketing, I suggest you do NOT join new product launches and upgrade solely on the hope of gaining referrals and earning commissions with the new service. Doing so misses the primary benefit of the service and will detract from what you need to focus on… building your traffic and lead generation.

On the other hand, if you are experienced and have started building your own list of leads by all means promote new product launches to your list. It certainly won’t hurt and the added ‘back end’ business is a bonus for building your list on the front end.

Looking ahead…

TE Command Post will be added as a recommended resource in TE Profits. This will allow you to continue focus on your traffic and lead generation, while gaining referrals in TECP on autopilot.

The TECP sister site, ViralMailProfits, which provides a similar service for email advertising in List Building tools will also be added to TE Profits.

All of my efforts are currently spent on making TE Profits your primary resource, while building your referrals in other top programs automatically. This proven strategy maximizes your advertising power by adding your referrals in these high quality programs without diluting your advertising efforts.

I really dislike hackers! I still haven’t figured out how to undo the damage.

And I’m completely stumped at finding out how to get the software for the new OBC to behave the way we need it to. Very frustrating! It wants me to approve each and every post before it will display the post!

Can you imagine that? One of your partners posts a question and nobody can see it until it’s been approved??? That’s just not how we operate around here!

So we now have another OBC running on a different kind of software… one that I can understand how to use!

Owner’s Business Center Under Construction

Last weekend the OBC forum was attacked with a code that triggers an advisory warning from Google.

Most browsers check sites against the Google advisory database and display a warning when entering a site listed in the database.

Although it is just a warning and there is no danger in entering the OBC forum, it is a real nuisance nonetheless. So Dave Gray has decided to start fresh with a new forum.

As you probably already know, a hacker has corrupted the main page of the OBC, causing a malicious pop-up whenever called. Google has also noticed and is displaying a warning with search results.

Rather than continue trying to find and fix the problem (which could take days, maybe weeks) I’ve decided to use this as an opportunity to switch to the latest version of the software that runs the OBC as well as re-design the OBC so that it’ll be easier for people to use.

This will also eliminate all of the obsolete information that’s presently floating around in the OBC.

Right now the new OBC is very “generic” in appearance, and it’ll take a while to make it look like “ours”, but we will.

You can find the new OBC at http://onlinebusinessalliance.com/obc (and you’ll need to register, as we’ll no longer be using the old OBC database).

I will also be revising the steps that a new Business Owner takes to set up his business.

If you are still having trouble logging in and using the Old OBC, if using Firefox, go to Tools, Options and Security Settings and un-tick the box “Block Reported Attack Sites”. After you un-tick that box and save the new setting, you should be able to log in and post at the old OBC after you have closed the popup.

Do NOT click on anything inside that popup, or even try to copy and past data from it because it will cause the entire window to close.

Hello Buddies!

It may seem like things around TEP have been rather quiet the past couple of months, but rest assured much is going on behind the scenes to bring you even more traffic, leads and cash flow. I’ve been hard at work for you.

Before I tell you about what to expect in the coming weeks, let me share some breaking news in the TE arena that is, frankly, quite shocking…

First, hell froze over!

Well, not really. But this week Jon Olson made a decision with I Love Hits that purportedly would not happen unless it got very, very cold in Hades.

I Love Hits is a large, well-established traffic exchange that has been a huge contributor to the growth of my own business. It has delivered consistent, responsive traffic that converts to leads (opt-ins) and sales.

The #1 reason to surf at I Love Hits is TRAFFIC. Always has been… always will be.

As one of the principle exchanges listed in VitalViral and Affiliate Funnel, my traffic downline at ILH has grown very large… and so have my traffic credits. Referring others to ILH pays off handsomely in bonus traffic as your referrals do their surfing.

Second, another TE is quietly making a stir this week…

These days I don’t spend as much time surfing, but Traffic Dealer is one I actually enjoy so much that I forget what I was doing.

However, despite an awesome surfing experience and successful launch, the developer of Traffic Dealer was simply not the best person for managing and growing the site on a daily basis. That’s nothing against the developer. Heaven knows I personally would not want the task of maintaining and growing a traffic exchange.

This week… silently behind the scenes… Traffic Dealer was transferred to TE powerhouse, Kinder-Rash Marketing (of Traffic-Splash, Tezak Traffic Power, and more).

The results of that move have already started taking effect. Traffic Dealer is definitely one to watch as it rises to the top ranks in the TE community.

Finally, behind the scenes updates at TE Profits…

As taught in your TEP training, building your own list of leads is the most important use of your traffic. You must be using splash pages and lead capture pages to maximize your results with Traffic Exchanges. Period.

This fact puts a huge part of the conversion process on your splash pages and capture pages. It’s the reason we put so much attention on offering a variety of splash/capture pages in TEP.

It’s also why I work almost continuously to come up with new attention-getting pages for you to plug into and use right away.

Turn Your Clicks Into Cash!

Another project I’ve been developing for about a year is to create a new ’sales page’ for TEP that would use a direct sale approach. The page we are using now simply tells readers of the Traffic Report and email series how they can get something they already want… the TEP system.

Before surfers get to the main page to join TEP, they are ALREADY SOLD on the system. We know this because, frankly, as a stand-alone sales page it’s not very good. (Don’t ever promote the sales page in a TE. It’s a waste of traffic.)

So in addition to several new splash pages and lead capture pages, I’ve created a new direct sales page for TEP. Combined, this is a very powerful marketing campaign that will create faster results with higher conversion rates.

However, as you may know from the OBC forum, Dave Gray has been recovering from a fall this winter. Our new pages are on hold until Dave is able to make the changes on the TEP site.

Over the next few days I’ll be considering more lead generation options you can use. I plan to package some capture pages, perhaps a pdf of the Traffic Report (which you can rebrand), and even a modified version of the sales page. You’ll have to do as most others teach and host the pages on your own server, but help is available in the OBC forum if you need it.

If you have read through the training material in your TEP back office, you know by now that building your own subscriber list is the #1 way to profit with your traffic. Do not send ANY traffic to ANY sales page without first gathering a name and email address.

This process establishes you as an expert. You are adding value. You also then have a personal list of valued prospects to continue building a relationship with. When announcing a future promotion, they are predisposed to signup or purchase based on your recommendations.

We gain subscribers by offering surfers valuable information on increasing Traffic, Leads and Sales with traffic exchanges. We under-sell and over-deliver on the promise.

What about these ‘List Building’ sites?

The same process applies. In the Traffic Report we mention ’safelists’ found in Traffic Hoopla as simply another form of traffic exchange. The difference is that we are exchanging emails rather than surfing to view web pages. But the primary intent is identical… traffic to a web page.

Again, rather than sending traffic directly to an affiliate sales page, we first gain a subscriber… build trust… and then make recommendations which result in sales.

Over the past two years, more and more new ‘List Building’ sites have come on line. In all actuality, these are safelists with a twist. The very title reveals the target market for these sites is people wanting to build their own list. Ironically, most users miss this obvious point.

You can use some of the email credits you get with safelists and List Builders to directly advertise affiliate programs. This is effective for gaining quick referrals especially during new product launches. But for maximum profits you should consistently offer something of value in exchange for a name and email address. Build your own list. (Hence, the name List Builder.)

Some of the most successful partners in the OBA and TEP have experienced quick success by taking full advantage of list building email sites like List Joe and List Auction for extra traffic and leads. You can easily target TE surfers who are using these list builders with your email advertisement. Simply include a link to one of your TEP squeeze pages.

The above squeeze page mentions (targets) list builders in the headline, and offers the prospect information on using traffic exchanges to build their own list (which is what list builders want). This method also increases your signups in traffic exchanges by marketing to list builders… something I call ‘marketing the market’.

Getting started with List Builders:

You’ll find several Safelists and List Builders mentioned in your Traffic Hoopla back office under 3rd Join. These are rated as most responsive to the Traffic Hoopla testing. Results with TEP are consistent.

I personally do not use the safelists mentioned, although I intend to add a few of those this year. My preference is to use the List Builder sites.

NOTE: You’ll want to establish a Gmail account to use as your “List Address” where you receive emails from these systems. Do NOT use your primary email address. In your Gmail account you can add filters to automatically sort the incoming emails into folders for each of the various sites you are subscribed to.

Just watched this video webcast from the “TE Guy” Jon Olson as he surfs and critiques web pages being advertised in I Love Hits.

Jon is fun to watch. He gets rather excited about good, personalized splash pages and almost irate at replicated affiliate sales pages being displayed in TEs.

The video is about 26 minutes in length. Jon reviews approximately 20 sites in that time. Well worth watching.

Jon reviews a TEP squeeze page. In his review he mentions that the page is not ‘branded’ which is true. What Jon does not know is that particular squeeze page is intentionally unbranded. It is what I call a ‘blind’ ad. The squeeze page attracts people who may have previously seen a TEP page and are otherwise no longer responding. (An extremely effective page to use even despite Jon’s valued opinion.)

Jon’s point is, nonetheless, valid. You should begin to ‘brand’ yourself early on in your advertising. Branding can be as simple as adding your picture to a splash page for recognition. Over time with repeated exposure you will gain more credibility with prospects.

Again, as stated above, you can use my branding initially. But you should move toward adding your own picture and personal endorsement on your splash pages. The opt in rate on your TEP lead capture page will increase when you include YOUR own smiling face in traffic exchanges.

I have yet to venture into video marketing.  But Jon swears by it. Anyone interested can certainly take notes from Tom McKinney.

When starting out advertising in traffic exchanges, there is nothing wrong with taking advantage of the TEP branding and recognition.

Enhance this with your own personal and ‘branded’ endorsement of TEP for increased response. Your endorsement actually carries more weight than my own. Combined it is a powerful method of advertising.
