A Brief History of TE Profits

What follows is a brief history of TE Profits’ development.

In 2007 I was reading and learning everything I could about traffic exchanges and how to use them to build a business. I joined VitalViral very early on and used it to generate more traffic from my surfing.

VitalViral grew and evolved into a list building, lead generating tool as well as a traffic downline builder. So I used VitalViral with TrafficWave to capture leads and follow up with them in my autoresponder. The conversions were higher with this approach as more people signed up for VitalViral and then actually started using it.

While this approach created more traffic, the traffic was not monetized. Little income was being generated. I needed something to “fund” the effort and marketing. In other words it needed a funded proposal.

After much research over a period of months, I found the book “Stacked Income” by Dave Gray. Actually, I did not find it. The book found me through an email advertisement on List Bandit.

I bought the book, read it, and was amazed. I realized that “Stop Being a Victim” would be the perfect leading product to fund my marketing because it has never ending potential for “upsells” on the “back end” through “stacking”.

Imagine thousands of dollars per month in RESIDUAL income from just a few sales of a five dollar book!

At first I simply added SBAV and Stacked Income to my autoresponder series to monetize my list. Teaching my subscribers to do the same resulted in more active surfers in my VitalViral and TE downlines, plus sales of TrafficWave as they in turn repeated the process.

I then wanted to increase the opt-in rate and improve conversions with a concisely written report on the process. So I set out to write the Traffic Report and create a new squeeze page.

In January 2008 I used Instant Squeeze Page Generator to create the squeeze page and offer my new Traffic Report in order to gather subscribers. It was first offered at the end of January.

The results were amazing!

20 subscribers and four sales of SBAV per day was the average. Most of the subscribers started asking if they could use my lead capture system to generate their own leads and make sales of the book also. Since my business would grow based on their success, I agreed.

The first TE Profits system was launched in March, 2008.

In the first edition, all duplicated pages were created manually. A good friend of mine helped immensely by converting the html pages over to php scripting. This greatly reduced the workload to that of installing only usernames and other unique information for each user.

Still, with the growth of TE Profits users most of my time was spent approving and creating new accounts. It was almost impossible to keep up with new accounts and still have time to create new marketing material.

That was until my now good friend, Dave Gray, stepped in and automated the entire process. Finally, after one year of working every single day with no time off, the fully automated TE Profits system became reality in March 2009.

If deciding to use “Stacked Income” as the funded proposal for my system was the best business decision I have made, then deciding to integrate the functionality of TE Profits into the structure of the Online Business Alliance was the second.

With this implementation TE Profits became more than just a duplicatable system. It is now a full-featured membership site and training area as well.

My hope is that everyone starting out to make money with online marketing would read “Stop Being a Victim”. It is that important.

Next, my hope is that anyone using traffic exchanges to market their business would learn to use them effectively by first building a list of leads.

How you gather leads and how you follow up with them is the primary challenge for any new marketer.

TE Profits provides an easy way to get started and “learn the ropes”. Do you need 20 new subscribers and 4 book sales per day to be successful? No. A good target that is not hard to achieve is one subscriber per day and one book sale per week. That rate of growth is easier to manage so you can properly support your new customers and partners.

Adding even just one new partner per month and teaching them to do the same will create financial independence in as little as one year with this business and marketing model.

If you are in a hurry and want to exceed that rate of growth, you will need to apply yourself and learn how to expand your marketing and increase your conversions in every step of the process. One place to begin is by creating your own splash pages and eventually your own squeeze pages. This sets you apart as a leader and “brands” your business.

I also believe the $5 Franchise presents the perfect way to easily monetize the marketing of practically any system. It can be offered on a blog, on a website, to a list, or even included in a “downline builder” already in existence. If it is presented as a simple “cash flow” tool rather than a “biz op” I believe it can work hand-in-hand with almost any legitimate business.

My advice for anyone just starting out in online marketing?

Forget about trying to sell lotions, pills, health foods, or high dollar travel services. Learn how to market. Learn how to generate leads.

Use TE Profits to create a lead generating marketing machine.

Rather than having marketing expenses of $100’s or even $1,000’s of dollars per month you will have a marketing machine that cranks out $100’s or $1,000’s of dollars per month in up front income before you sell one bottle of “go juice” or vitamins.

  1. Thank you Scott for answering my question. I am very surprised how many TEProfits ads I see while surfing. This is relatively new and a lot of people are members already. Cool! This post is good info. to know.

  2. I have been marketing (a different program) in Traffic Exchanges for two months now and I have gotten tons of hits and no sales. I’ve had maybe 2 people call me about a product but no sales. So maybe your right I mean that’s how I ended up here from a TE.
    Thanks for sharing your story…

  3. Hi, Scott!

Really good points has been pointed out right here!

What I mean is that most of people ( including me) who joins
TeProfits “gets” only a tiny portion of the whole marketing idea.

And I think ( from my own experience) it’s because they see money and set it as their priority and ignoring the marketing plan itself.

    How do I know it?

Simply, I cannot contact any of my partners no-matter how
hard I try. There’s simply no relationship!

I can’t blame them, they are just starting…

People who “gets” marketing set’s relationships as their priority.

I would rather have only 5 leads in my autoresponder then 2-3 leads a day who are collecting my letters as a digital dust on their emails.

I have surfed a lot lately and more and more I see people surfing the wrong way! They don’t “get” the marketing and I want to save them from wasting their valuable time.

That brings up to focus on educating my leads. Rather then overwhelm them with so much information that Scott is giving away on his autoresponder follow-up series why not cut it down to small daily chunks and create a day-by-day surfing action plan, where focus isn’t on surfing..but marketing!

    You’re great as always, Scott!

This post gave me another incentive to
    surf less and market more.

    Thank You!

  4. Just starting out with TEP. What you are introducing here certainly rings true deep within the inner recesses of my brain, the one that has been scratching away at a whole plethora of TEs with little to no concrete success other than that I have learned a lot about all the different TEs out there on the World Wide Web, and there sure are a lot of the little buggers.

During all that scratching though, it has also been apparently dawning on the distant horizon of said brain that I have been approaching it, the TE world, in the wrong manner. When I ventured to take a closer look at TEP, and then over the next few days prior to my TEP membership getting rooted looking at and beginning to make use of Vital Viral, I must say, yeah, I like it. Uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh uh-huh.

Getting the traffic and then selling what ever instead of getting all sappy happy with some affiliate product or program to promote or my groovy but seemingly useless websites. Nosireebob!

Now I’ll be cruising though. In a year’s time, TEP and a few other things I have started working with in recently months are without doubt going to be shaping up my sales record into something I can write home about.

    Cheers, Scott

    Hey, Doug!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I like your writing style.

Your post reminds me that TEP is NOT a “no brainer”. Truly grasping concepts presented in TEP, VitalViral and OBA’s “Stacked Income” requires a bit of careful thought to get your head around their complex simplicity. When the light comes on it seems obvious. “Why didn’t I see this before?”

One of my favorite tag lines is, “Its not WHAT you sell but HOW you sell it.”

A more accurate statement is “No matter WHAT you want to sell, it won’t sell itself. You must learn HOW to market before you can sell ANYTHING on the internet.” (Too lengthy for a tag line)

However, I need to clarify that WHAT you sell DOES matter.

Clever marketers can sell anything. Some don’t care at all what they peddle off on the next person. They will sell ‘what ever’ makes a buck. They give up solid business practices and lasting partnerships in favor of short term income.

A disturbing trend in IM is to build a huge list of ’suckers’ and quickly monetize the list building process with a hyped up One-Time-Offer (OTO). Does it work? Yes. Unfortunately it works all too well.

Of all the traffic, list building, lead generation and training material I recommend, two products top the list: “Stop Being a Victim” and “Stacked Income”. No hype. Not very glamorous. Only five bucks.

These two products do much more than fund your marketing and create steady cash flow. They also provide a business plan based on sound principles and solid relationships that will carry you far into the future.

And that is definitely something to write home about.

    To Your Long Term Success,
    Scott

  5. Hi Doug

Thanks for the well written blog. I am really so excited about the potential of this business and can see at long last that I will create an online business that will be my legacy for my family and especially helping others to succeed.

I was blown away when I read ‘Stacked Income’ and then on reading ‘Stop being a Victim’ I recognized the error of my futile attempts to develop ‘any’ income stream from the countless ‘opportunities’ that I have joined. Talk about overload …. even at this point my brain is fried from so many things I am trying to accomplish. ……. Now I am clear about the wisdom of FOCUS on ONE Business at a time.

I am sure that many of us have been totally frustrated with
our entrepreneurial spirit and determination to find the answer to creating real and welcomed wealth ….. I really do feel that at last we have found the ‘Master Key’ to online financial success ……… I just can’t wait to experience the lifestyle.

I’m eternally optimistic and look forward to the journey with many of you who will become my business mentors and friends over the coming months.

Let’s lift a glass and toast our Combined Success!!!
    Cheers
    Derek
